Hailey got the idea for a theft inside the Archives warehouse which is supposedly almost three miles square and filled with antiquities placed there almost a hundred years ago.

Returning to Jag, Hailey then combined all the technical knowledge of the set advisors, the knowledge of the F-14 pilots that were around the shooting and finally the crew of submarines that were just coming into port.

The result is a book that is the first in the series called
U.S. Archives, Volume 1, The Run for Crystal Palace.

Hailey is now the head of makeup for the Mark Harmon CBS television series NCIS. Discussions are also underway about a possible TV series based on the book.
